Yesterday my trusty Carol and I were busy bees at the wedding of Janice Gaoiran and Sergio Espinoza at the historic Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey. Normally a pretty routine set up for ceremonies on the lawn, we were advised – less than 72 hours before the wedding day that the ceremony area was dug up due to a water line break…On to plan B. Our bride was so gracious and unfazed by this turn of events and was willing to go with the flow. We were able to figure it all out during the rehearsal at an area never used for a wedding before and the 26 in the bridal party were very cooperative and all so sweet.
We were blessed with perfect weather and the ceremony went great with classical guitar provided by John C. Clark. The ballroom looked great with turquoise as the accent color and the cake was pretty cool. The neatest thing about the cake, though, was the cake stand which was such a great idea Janice saw in a magazine. She also have the most beautiful cake cutting set I’ve ever seen with the handles adorned in rhinestones with a rhinestone “E” for the top of the cake.
Janice and Sergio were so cute and, although they had 200 guests there to celebrate with them, it was as if there were there only for each other every time they looked in each other’s eyes.
We had a great night and wish Janice well as she begins her journey as a new military wife and joins Sergio in Virginia.
